I know this to be true "fathers are so proud..." My husband and our eldest son have always had a rather stormy relationship until my son put on his uniform. The storm continues most of the time, but when it's time for uniforms or army talk well the mood changes. I personally would prefer him in his lifeguard trunks enjoying the sunshine.

Our Day of Remembrance in Canada is in November, but this seems to be the day to thank our American allies for all their armed forces do and have done for us.

Lovely quotes ... I can't imagine sending my sons off to war, brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Truly it takes uncommon valor. May we ever be grateful and deserving of our promised land!

There is definitely a pride in seeing your loved one in uniform to serve his country.
This is a great family photo to commemorate the two veterans.

We visited him today, too.

I've never seen that picture of his family. Great Grandma looks just like I remember! ...well, maybe a tad younger than I remember! :)
