"The paint and the paper looks as if a boys' school had used it. It is stripped off--the paper--in great patches all around the head of my bed, about as far as I can reach, and in a great place on the other side of the room low down. I never saw a worse paper in my life. One of those sprawling flamboyant patterns committing every artistic sin."

Today's Top Ten . . . Author's that deserve more recognition
I had a hard time with this list because I don’t really know how they recognize Authors. The only award I ever really watch for is the Newbery Award but I’m sure there are more recognitions than that one. I think it’s for children’s books anyway.
So . . . I went to the author’s tab at the top of my blog and browsed through the authors I had read from for the last 2 years and picked 10 new to me authors that had written books that I really enjoyed. Here they are in no particular order.
Shannon Hale
Brandon Mull
Tony Early
Kate DiCamillo
Syrie James
Markus Zusak
Sue Monk Kidd
Jeffrey Holland
Neil Gaimon
Camille Fronk Olson

I enjoyed two books by Sue Monk Kidd. Here are my two teases: The Beloved Dead
Great teaser!
I'm googling this one to see more. :)
Some great choices- Shannon Hale, Brandon Mull, Kate DiCamillo...and I absolutely love Elder Holland!!!
I've actually heard of many of the authors on your list! :) I'm so happy about that. Great list!
PS--I've never read any of Elder Holland's books, but if they're as good as his GC talks, then I'm sure they're wonderful.
Oooh, I LOVE that bit of the Yellow Wallpaper...just a sentence or two before that, the narrator claims the boys pulled off the paper; then she says here that it's off as far as she can reach, and a little bit later she says that it "sticks closer than a brother" which, of course, makes me question if she hasn't been pulling the paper from the very beginning....good stuff.
Great teaser!
Here is my TT :)
Great list!
I agree on Hale :)
I do enjoy Syrie James and have only read Markus Zusak's first book, but want to read his second one. Yes, of course, Jeffrey Holland always captivates me.
Glad you're finally reading The Yellow Wallpaper. Definitely one of my favorites. I just posted my Tuesday Teaser, go take a look at it!
I really enjoyed this story!
A very descriptive teaser. I agree with you about Shannon Hale. I'm so glad you led me in her direction. I just finished a graphic novel she and her husband did. I also like Sue Monk Kidd.
My teaser this week in here:Quirky Girls Read
