Monday Movies: In Memoriam

In Memory of my Father
who served in the
Korean War

True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic.
It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost,
but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.

~Arthur Ashe

Today's Monday Movie Meme is all about Soldiers

My Husband took me to see and has watched many times over the years "Patton"
I myself think "Saving Private Ryan" was a good movie about Soldiers

But our favorite movie about a soldier was "Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon

We owe a lot to those who served and are serving in the military. My dad was in WWII.
I thought George C. Scott was great in Patton, although I have mixed feelings about the real Patton.

I love the photos on this post ... especially the block of color on the flag. Here's to your dad and all he did.

Taking Chance? I have never heard of that one. Thanks so much for recommending it. And a very nice tribute to your father. It is important to appreciate what others do and have done for us.

Saving Private Ryan is a fantastic movie. It has all the grittiness of war without bogging down in depression, though it did make me cry.
