It's not performing very well . . .
I'll be taking a break while it's nursed back to health.
You should be wary as this virus is attached to blogger. It combs the files on your PC extracting personal data
the process it shows itself as is "iexplore.exe"
google it for info
symptoms:
I first noticed a sound in my tower like my computer was "reading" all the time
then the internet started to slow down
I started having pop-up alerts of a virus, but it could not be found when we ran virus scans
The internet service is now to the point where it is freezing mid-post (which is why I am taking a break. Sometimes it takes me an hour to put up a post like this one)
I can load my page with Mozilla, but as soon as I try to access anything connected with google or blogger it quits working.
The google reader won't load
I can't use my blog roll to access other sites.
I can't run multiple programs
google search has ceased to work
Microsoft office is corrupt and won't open
many applications won't open.
The computer barely works--and it's only two years old
My husband bought a new drive for me to blog on, he installed it in the tower and only added google explorer to the drive
he didn't get a virus scanner loaded for a couple of weeks, by that time that drive was non-functional.
It was freezing up and I couldn't read blogs or load web pages.
When he clicked control+alt+delete and the process list came up there were six "iexplore.exe" attached to "blogger" all running using massive amounts of memory. We have not been able to shut them down.
when I typed "iexplore.exe" into the search bar it comes up with all kinds of references to a virus with this name, but I can't stay connected to the server so I don't know what it says.
It might me awhile until this one is figured out . . . .
does anyone have experience with this?
*froze during this edit, I've tried to publish it five times*

Thanks for the heads up Kaye. What are some symptoms?
Oooooh, good luck, Kaye.
Do I google 'iexplore.exe' I've been having problems w/ my computer at home & at work, too. I can't connect to the internet at home at all & my computer at work isn't loading pics on blogger blogs, but pics on other sites are loading fine. I can't afford another computer, mine at home is only a year old or so, so I'm really starting to freak out.
Not good! Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks for the warning. I will check out my machine. Good luck with a fix!
Oh ... how awful. Good luck getting it fixed.
Hope your computer gets well soon, Kaye. I don't know anything about this virus so can't offer any ideas. But I've been having different sorts of computer troubles over the past week or two... Hope you get it sorted soon.
Janice.
What a mess! Hope you can get connected again soon. I hadn't heard of this one.
oh no! we've never had a virus (knocking on wood..) but right now our processor is dying (according to a friend who knows these things)
well, maybe it will be a good excuse to go enjoy the beautiful weather you're having? ;)
Major hugs on the virus. I've been using Malwarebytes.org to keep my laptop clean, which helps a lot even with my firewall holding most of the dreck at bay, but I simply gave up on the desktop. The more I fought the viruses, the worse the system got.
In case you were wondering, if I hadn't found a super cheap replacement computer, I'd have taken my desktop to one of the many computer repair shops here in town and had all the viruses removed for me. It's a process that generally takes 24 hours "on the bench" and has a few days waiting list and costs about $150.
OH NO! You are still having trouble? Please get well soon, Kaye's computer.
How's it going?
my husbands run several virus scans and defragmented. Now he wants me to get the drive ready to wipe clean so he can reformat.
his philosophy is "don't someone to do what you can do yourself."
So my lot is to be patient. I pop in on a few blogs here and there until the dang thing freezes up again. *grrrr* =(
