Photo Hunt: Bagged

A deer I "bagged" when I was much younger than I am now.

I've mentioned before
I live in the western United States, come from a hunting family and grew up game fed, so yeah I'm OK with this.

Wow, how long did it take you to get 2 deer?

I didn't actually shoot two deer (that would be against the law). Someone else shot the other one. I just got that little spike--it was probably his first hunt too.

Are those your kids' real faces pasted in there? Waaaay cool.
Deer season starts here on Monday; we have a 'camp' that hunts across our land and pays us off in venison as we don't hunt ourselves. My FIL hunted, though, and got some marvelous moose. Very tasty.
Hmm. Mooses? Mice? Sigh.

I grew up with hunters, but have never gone hunting myself. I feel left out.

My husband has been hunting since he was 9 years old.....which would have made me....um, negative 2. Anyway, early on in our marriage people who know I'm an animal lover would ask....."how can you live with a hunter?!" To which I would ask, "Do you eat meat?" If the answer was yes, I'd say "then shut up, cause the animals my husband harvests had a much nicer life AND death than anything you ever bought in the store." If the answer was NO, I'd give them their 5 minutes.
